Parent Child Interaction Therapy

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment approach designed to improve the parent-child relationship and address behavioral issues in children aged 2 to 7 years. In PCIT, parents are coached by a trained therapist to develop positive and nurturing interactions with their child while also learning effective behavior management techniques. The therapy typically involves two phases: Child-Directed Interaction (CDI), where parents learn to enhance their child's self-esteem and confidence through play, and Parent-Directed Interaction (PDI), where parents are taught to set limits and use consistent discipline strategies. PCIT aims to strengthen the parent-child bond, improve communication skills, and reduce disruptive behaviors in children

Jennifer is not currently offering PCIT to fidelity for families. In-room coaching using CDI skills is available.
