Collaborative Problem Solving

Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Ross Greene, aimed at addressing challenging behaviors in children and adolescents. This model focuses on understanding and resolving the underlying causes of behavioral difficulties rather than simply managing symptoms. CPS views challenging behaviors as a result of lagging skills and unsolved problems rather than willful defiance or manipulation. In CPS, therapists work collaboratively with caregivers and the child or adolescent to identify specific areas of difficulty and develop solutions that address the needs of both parties. The approach emphasizes empathy, flexibility, and mutual respect in problem-solving efforts. Through CPS, individuals learn new skills, build relationships, and improve communication, leading to more positive outcomes and reduced conflict.

Jennifer is currently offering Parent and Caregiver Training using CPS approach. She is certified through Thinkkids and integrates fidelity curriculums as well as customized adaptations that are client-centered.
